Why do these files have .phpg file extensions?

PHP-GTK File Extension: dot phpg

This is the file extension you should give your PHP programs that require GTK. This way a file manager such as Thunar or Windows Explorer can be told the correct way to execute it (perhaps with a special config file) when the file is double clicked, compared to normal PHP files which do not need GTK.
